Hiram “Tony” Medina, 67, of Whiting, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025. He was born on August 18, 1957, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, he lived in Chicago for most of his life and later made Whiting Indiana his home.
Tony was a man of simple joys and a big heart. He loved baseball, riding his bike, and bowling. A devoted Cubs fan, he could often be found watching games on a small TV on his sister Lucy’s back porch, cheering them on with a cold Miller Lite in hand. He loved Scott Peterson polishes and would never come home without a pack. Tony also had a unique sense of humor always making jokes and making everyone laugh.
Above all, Tony loved his family. He is survived by his daughters Tiffany and Evelyn his grandchildren Donovin and Ayva. His siblings Lucy Maldonado, Jaime (Yankee) Medina, Vilma Medina, Eda Iris Irizarry, David Medina, and Aixa Larregui along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He is proceeded by his parents Juan Medina-Diaz, Dolores Cruz-Rivera and his brother Jorge (Cucho) Medina
Tony’s memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with those around him. His presence on the back porch, his passion for the game, and his unwavering spirit will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, Tony. The Cubs will always have a fan in you.
